Mrs. Peters passed away February 28, 1984, at Twilight Acres in Wall Lake. Organist Mrs. Dennis Mein accompanied soloist Mrs. Marilyn Aschinger and congregational singing. Allie Peters was born in Wheatland Township in Carroll County, Ia., June 7, 1888, the daughter of Henrich and Gerdina Auen Meyer. She was batized at the Wheatland Church. Mrs. Peters moved with her parents to Viola Township in Sac County when she was 12. She finished school there. On January 1, 1919, she was married to John Peters at her parents' home in rural Lake View. In 1953 the couple moved to Lake View. After John died in 1970, Mrs. Peters made her home with her daughter until she moved to Twilight Acres in 1973. Mrs. Peters was the oldest member of Emmanuel Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of United Presbyterian Women, and was honored as the oldest member during their 100th anniversary on November 11, 1982. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Delwin (Rosella) Nehring of Sac City; two grandchildren, Leroy and Nadine; two great-grandchildren, Jedadiah and Eric; and two brothers, Henry H. Meyer of Sac City and John Meyer of Fort Dodge. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; one daughter, Ruth; eight brothers: Mine, Dirk, Wilkie, Wierd, Antaus, Dick, Leury and Detrick; and three sisters: Maggie, Henrietta and Gretchen.
