Description	:	Alma Isaak, 97, of Dodge, ND died Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Knife River Care Center, Beulah, ND. Alma was born to Emanuel and Ernestine (Schimke) Breitling on December 13, 1918 at the family homestead north of Dodge. She grew up and attended school north of Dodge. On May 18, 1941 Alma married Ernest Isaak at St. Paul Missouri Synod Church and they made their home on Ernest’s family’s farm for eight years. Read More	Alma Isaak, 97, of Dodge, ND died Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Knife River Care Center, Beulah, ND. Alma was born to Emanuel and Ernestine (Schimke) Breitling on December 13, 1918 at the family homestead north of Dodge. She grew up and attended school north of Dodge. On May 18, 1941 Alma married Ernest Isaak at St. Paul Missouri Synod Church and they made their home on Ernest’s family’s farm for eight years. In 1949, the couple purchased their own farm north of Dodge where they raised their two children, Jerry and James. In 1983, Alma and Ernest moved to Golden Valley and in 2008 Alma moved to Hazen and resided at the Senior Suites. Alma moved to Knife River Care Center in 2009 and has lived there until her passing. Alma enjoyed traveling, especially going on bus trips. She traveled from one coast to the other, making her way out east as well as visiting Portland, OR and Las Vegas, NV. Alma also liked cooking, baking, gardening, canning and many handcrafts, including crocheting, embroidering and quilting. She was active in her church, teaching Sunday school and participating in the women’s Bible study. Alma had a love for dancing, playing cards and singing in the German singers club. Alma is survived by her sons, Jerry Isaak of Dodge and Jim (Connie) Isaak of Bismarck, ND; two grandchildren, Aaron (Jody) Isaak of Bismarck and Christopher (Christine) Isaak of West Fargo, ND; three great-grandchildren, Keagan, Bennett and Noah; one sister, Irene (Roland) Backfish of Hazen; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernest; one daughter-in-law, Sandy Isaak; one granddaughter, Shawna Isaak; three sisters, Hertha Keller, Ruth Walker and Elsie Weisz; and one brother, Richard Breitling.
