Read More	Alma C. Clausen was born December 25, 1897, the daughter of Fritz and Cecilia Geimer Schoenfeld. She died at the Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison on Thursday, June 17, 1993 at the age of ninety-five years. Alma was born on a farm in Hanover Township, Crawford County, Iowa. She was baptized on February 13, 1898 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Soldier and later confirmed there on March 31, 1912. She received her education in a rural school near her home and graduated from the Immanuel Lutheran School in Soldier Township. After completing her education, Alma worked at home until she was united in marriage to Herbert Clausen on June 30, 1921. The couple settled on a farm in Morgan Township and were blessed with the birth of three children. Alma and Herbert farmed until they retired in 1949 and moved to Denison. In 1968, Herbert died and Alma remained at home until 1988 when she moved to the Eventide Lutheran Home. She was a loving wife and caring and considerate mother who always had time for her children and grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, baking and sewing. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and their Dorcas Society. Alma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers and two sisters. Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy Bielfeldt and her husband, John of Arion; Delores Ahrenholtz and her husband, Willis of Denison; and one son, Donald Clausen and his wife Dorothy of Schleswig. Also eight grandchildren, nine greatgrandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 21, 1993 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Denison, Iowa. Pastor Kurt Kaiser and Pastor Philip E. Bloch officiated the service and grave side rites held at the Crawford Heights Memory Gardens in Denison. Karen Kahl provided the organ accompaniment for congregational hymns "Just As I Am, Without One Plea", "What a Friend We Have In Jesus" and "I'm But a Stranger Here". Honorary Pallbearers were: Jerry Ebert, Brian Clark and Irvin Zeimen. Pallbearers were: Dean Ahrenholtz, Denise Clausen, James Bielfeldt, Jeff Ahrenholtz, Debra Zeimen, Darlis Clausen, Lynn Ebert and Jan Clark. The Walter A. Huebner and Sons Funeral Home in Denison was in charge of arrangements.
