Description	:	Alma Corda Hoffman, youngest child of Corda and Sarah Hoffman, was born at Moorhead, Iowa, March 6, 1899, and departed this life on July 11, 1938, at the Decatur County Hospital. At the time of his death, he was 39 years, 4 months, and 5 days of age. In the fall of 1906, he came to Lamoni with his mother and brother, Joe, and the summer following his eighth birthday, he was baptized into the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints by Robert Elvin to which covenant he remained faithful until his passing. On May 16, 1920, he was united in marriage to Florence Bartlett by Henry Stebbins at his home theirs being the last marriage ceremony performed by him. To this union was born three children, Harrel Wayne, I5, Thelma Naomi, 14, and John Rex, 13, who with their mother are left to mourn the loss of a loving father and husband. Besides his immediate family, he leaves his mother who was with him in his last illness, two sisters, Mrs. Ruby Tornow, of Ute, Iowa, and Mrs. Mollie Mann, of South Sioux City, Neb. One brother, Joe, of Lamoni, 8 nephews, 6 nieces, 5 great-nephews, and 6 great-nieces, besides a host of other relatives and friends. His first thought was for his home and his family. For the past three years he had been in fading health and for the last three weeks of his life was confined to his bed with a heart ailment, being at all times patient, cheerful and kind to those who tenderly cared for him. Early Monday morning he was taken to the Decatur County Hospital where he passed away at 3:30 that afternoon the end coming very suddenly. The community and town where he has spent his entire life have lost a kind neighbor and friend. Funeral services were held from the Bloomington church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in charge of R. A. Ballantyne assisted by A. L. Keen. The music was furnished by a quartet composed of Nellie Lester, Mrs. Arthur Derry, Glenn Nixon, and Eldon Whitehead. Pallbearers were Paul Roberts, Moroni Shippy, Charles E. Harpe, L.G. Holloway, Ralph Johnson, and Elmer Green. Those attending the rites from out of town were his mother, Mrs. Elvina Hoffman, of Moorhead, Iowa; two Mrs. Mollie Mann, of South Sioux City, Neb., and Mrs. Ruby Tornow, of Ute, Iowa; a niece and nephew, Mr. and Mrs. Cloyd Mann and family, of Castana, Iowa, and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Peterson and family of Turin, Iowa; nephew, Wallace Hoffman, of Moorhead, and Mrs. J.E.
