Description	:	Alma Ramsey, 91, Cooperstown, ND, Formerly of Binford, ND died in the Griggs County Nursing Home in Cooperstown January 6, 2001. Funeral services were held January 11 in the Grace Lutheran Church in Cooperstown with interment in the Zion Cemetery, rural Binford. Alma Eleanora Leininger was born January 22, 1909, in Kingsley Township, Griggs County, ND, the daughter of John W. and Ida (Gutknecht) Leininger. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at the Zion Lutheran Church, rural Binford. She attended rural school there. Alma Eleanora Leininger was born January 22, 1909, in Kingsley Township, Griggs County, ND, the daughter of John W. and Ida (Gutknecht) Leininger. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at the Zion Lutheran Church, rural Binford. She attended rural school there. She married Bernhard Ramsey September 18, 1929, at her parents' home near Binford. The couple farmed in the Binford area their entire married life, retiring in 1972. They continued to make their home on the farm. Ben died November 27, 1984. Alma continued to make her home on the family farm until November 5, 1990, when she moved to the Southside Apts. In Cooperstown. In March of 1995, she became a resident of the Griggs County Nursing Home in Cooperstown. Alma was a mission worker. She made hundreds of quilts through the years for Lutheran World Relief and for her children and grandchildren. She was famous for the caramel rolls and buns she baked. She could look at a picture of a dress and sew one just like it. She sewed for her children and grandchildren. She crocheted hundreds of rag rugs and knitted many afghans. She is survived by two daughters, Connie (Charles) Beer, Vancouver, WA, Elaine (Don E.) Dahl, Fargo, ND, four sons, Rev. David (Diane), Brandon, Manitoba, Rev. John (Vivian), Omak, WA, Gary (Karen), Binford, ND, Gordon (Doris), Weslaco, TX; 36 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Marianne Bowden, Phyllis Hansen and two great-grandchildren.
