MULLINS - Two nurses were killed late Saturday night in an auto crash on their way home from work at the Marion Memorial Hospital. The S.C. Highway Patrol identified the women as Mrs. Alma Lewis Brown, 60, Mrs. Ida Tucker, 54. The driver of the other car was identified as Joe William Jr. He was listed in serious condition in Marion Memorial Hospital. The highway patrol said the women were returning home from work about 11:30 p.m. on U.S. 76 about five miles from Mullins when the two cars collided. Funeral... Funeral services for Mrs. Brown will be at 4 p.m. Monday in the Cox Collins Funeral Home with burial in Devotion Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Brown was born in Marion County, a daughter of Mrs. Addie Jackson Lewis and the late Joseph H. Lewis. Surviving are her mother of Mullins; two sons, Joseph A. Brown and Donald Ray Brown, both of Mullins; five daughters, Mrs. Louise B. Saunders of Spartanburg, Mrs. C. H. Simmons Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, and Mrs. Linwood Capps, Mrs. Carol M. Harrelson and Mrs. Dennis R. Edwards, all of Florence; and three brothers Olin H. Lewis and Joseph McRoy Lewis of Leesburg, Fla.; and Marvin O'Dell Lewis of Mullins.
