Brother, Max Kuehn, b 18 September 1875 in Nebraska. residing with birth family in 1900, with mother in 1920, with sister, Alma, and her family in 1920. Patient at Norfolk State Hospital (Hosp for the Insane) in 1940. Never married. He MAY be # 17871330. Brother, Robert Kuehn, # 129263222, b May 1878 in Nebraska per 1900 census. In 1910, Robert was residing as brother-in-law in the home of a widowed Maria Kuehn, b ca 1880 in NE, in Kingsburg, Stanton, Nebraska. Maria's children were Frieda, b ca 1905-06 in NE, and Arthur, b ca 1907-08 in NE. In 1930, Robert is married to Mary who, like Maria from the 1910 census, was b ca 1880 in Nebraska. Children were Freida and Arilus, who possess the same birth details as the Freida and Arthur noted in the 1910 census. In 1940, Robert and Mary are residing with Fred and Frieda Siecke in Kingsburg Election Precinct, Stanton, Nebraska. Frieda Siecke, # 129335668, b ca 1906 in NE, md Fred, b ca 1900 in NE; dau Pearl b ca 1938 in NE. Maria's children were Freida (Siecke?) and Arthur # 129263212 (Arilus in 1930). She was widowed in 1910. So Freida and Arthur # 129263212 (Arilus in 1930) appear to be actually be stepchildren to Robert, who is their step-father, but also their uncle. Although the 1930 census notes both Frieda and Arthur to have a father born in Nebraska, the 1910 census, taken prior to Robert's marriage, notes the birth location of their father to be Germany. The long and short of this is that Otto, who passed away in 1907, was the children's birth father and was married to Maria / Mary, # 129263220, who later married Robert. However, Robert was obviously involved in their lives since they were very young, and may even have stepped in before Arthur was born, since Arthur's biological father (Otto) passed roughly seven months prior.
