Alma worked for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad and the Great Northern Railroad in Oregon. She then had a government job in California during World War II. Alma was a devoted mother and homemaker. She was a member of the United Methodist Women's Society, Commander of the American Legion Auxiliary and also a Cub Scout leader. Ceramics were her love, with sewing and crafts, painting, fishing and golfing as her past-times. Alma was preceded in death by her father, John and her mother, Roma Covey.
