Description	:	Mrs. Alma Lucille (Carter) Faughn, resident of Spiro, Oklahoma, formerly of McCrory, Arkansas, departed this life on Monday, September 11, 2017, at Covington Court Heath and Rehabilitation Center in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born on Tuesday, August 11, 1931, in McCrory, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Howell Carter and Ola Jane (Taylor) Carter. Read More	Mrs. Alma Lucille (Carter) Faughn, resident of Spiro, Oklahoma, formerly of McCrory, Arkansas, departed this life on Monday, September 11, 2017, at Covington Court Heath and Rehabilitation Center in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born on Tuesday, August 11, 1931, in McCrory, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Howell Carter and Ola Jane (Taylor) Carter. Lucille and Jay Faughn were united in marriage on June 25, 1949, and they enjoyed 54 years of marriage until his passing on September 13, 2003. Mrs. Lucille worked in the restaurant business, and as a clerk at a cotton gin for several years, and was a member of Smith Chapel Baptist Church in Colt, Arkansas, where she was involved with many church activities. She loved quilting, sewing, solving word searches, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Lucille will be remembered for her fantastic canned fruits and vegetables, jams, jellies, and fried pies. Mrs. Faughn was preceded in death by her husband, Jay Faughn; parents, Howell and Ola Jane Carter; four brothers, Orville, Arthur, Ralph, and Jack Carter; five sisters, Silvia Woods, Estella Mauldin, Ruth Elam, Irna Faye Matthews, and Wilma Carter; and a granddaughter, Tonja Martin. She is survived by two sons, Jimmy Faughn of Magazine, Arkansas and Michael Faughn and wife, Minnie, of Pearcy, Arkansas; a daughter, Gloria Faughn of Spiro, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; thirteen great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 15, 2017, at Woodman Cemetery in McCrory, Arkansas with Dr. J.T. Baskins officiating. Friends may visit at the Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home in McCrory, Arkansas from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on the day of the service.
