She was baptized and confirmed a St. Boniface Catholic church in Westphalia. She attended St. Boniface school and grew to adulthood on her parent's farm. On Sept 3, 1929, she married John W. Read More	The Life Story of Alma Heller Alma Marie Heller, daughter of Frank and Mary Rosmann Hodapp, was born on a farm near Westphalia, on April 7, 1908. She was baptized and confirmed a St. Boniface Catholic church in Westphalia. She attended St. Boniface school and grew to adulthood on her parent's farm. On Sept 3, 1929, she married John W. Heller at St. Boniface Catholic church in Westphalia. Six children were born to this union. After their marriage, Mr and Mrs Heller lived in Portsmouth, Iowa for 26 years. They then moved to Harlan and this has been her home since that time. Mrs Heller died at Mercy hospital in Council Bluffs, on Oct 20, 1976, at age of 68 years, 6 months and 13 days. She was a long time member of St. Michael's Catholic church and St. Ann's Guild in Harlan. She was also a member of the Senior Citizens Center. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, John , of Harlan; a son, Don of Audubon; five daughters - Verdellia (Mrs Howard Schulte) of Harlan, Marjorie (Mrs Phil Monahan) of Ralston, Nebr, Marita (Mrs Nick Meinhart) of Minneapolis, Minn, Sharon (Mrs Richard Van Tassell) of Springfield, Nebr, and Julie (Mrs Steve Falherty), of Omaha, Neb; 15 grandchildren and by one great-grandchild; by three brothers - Virgil and Eugene Hodapp, both of Harlan and Merlin Hodapp of Waterloo; two sisters - Anita (Mrs Cletus Zimmerman) of Houston, Tex. and Stella Graeve of Des Moines; nieces and nephews and other relatives. A Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Michael's Catholic church in Harlan, on Friday, Oct 22, 1976, with Rev Richard Wagner as celebrant and Rev Paul Monahan, Rev Fred P Reischl and Rev Edward R Kelly as concelebrants. Burial was in St. Mary's cemetery at Portsmouth, with Tom Heller, Joe Hodapp, Tim Hodapp, Mark Heller, Mike Monahan, and Randy Fiscus serving as pallbearers.
