Description	:	Pearl Anderson Cheek, 99, of Anderson, widow of the late Marion L. Cheek, Sr., passed on to meet her Lord on Friday, June 17, 2016. Born January 4, 1917, in Toccoa, GA, she was the daughter of the late John E. and Alpha Thomas Anderson. Mrs. Cheek was a member of North Anderson Baptist Church and previously a long term member of Forest Hill Baptist Church. Surviving are her daughter, Iris Cheek Whetsell (Ed) of Kingstree, SC and Douglas E. Cheek (Sheila) of Taylors, SC, eight grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and two great- great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a... Born January 4, 1917, in Toccoa, GA, she was the daughter of the late John E. and Alpha Thomas Anderson. Mrs. Cheek was a member of North Anderson Baptist Church and previously a long term member of Forest Hill Baptist Church. Surviving are her daughter, Iris Cheek Whetsell (Ed) of Kingstree, SC and Douglas E. Cheek (Sheila) of Taylors, SC, eight grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and two great- great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, M.L. Cheek, Jr., five brothers and one sister. She was also blessed with a wonderful and loving extended family. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 19, at Sullivan-King Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Bill Rigsby officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary. The family would like to express their appreciation and love to the staff at Brookdale Hawthorne Park and Brookdale Hospice, who cared for Mrs. Cheek with love and dignity. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to North Anderson Baptist Church, 2308 North Main St., Anderson, SC 29621 or Forest Hill Baptist Church, 909 Plantation Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
