The family was of German descent and had emigrated from Russia to join relatives living in Secord in 1910. Read More	From the Gladwin County Record --- December 31, 2003 ALMA LEVEE Alma LeVee was born on October 30, 1912, one of twelve children born to August and Meta(Eshenberg) Witkoske of Gladwin County. The family was of German descent and had emigrated from Russia to join relatives living in Secord in 1910. During Alma's teenage years the family moved to Beaverton, where Alma graduated from Beaverton Rural Schools. She later graduated from County Normal and taught in one room schools in Dale and Buckeye Townships for six year Alma married Ellis LeVee in 1937, and they lived in rural Beaverton where they raised their three children. Alma was a homemaker whose skills in cooking and baking were appreciated by others throughout her lifetime. She enjoyed reading and learning about her many interests and shared these modestly withher family and friends. Her appreciation of poetry and literature was another legacy passed on to her children and grandchildren. Sewing was one of her skills, and her children and grand children looked forward to her Christmas projects especially. Ellis and Alma observed sixty years of marriage. They have been members of the Beaverton Church of Nazarene, and together have devoted many years of support and leadership to their church family. Alma was predeceased by nine of her siblings and one daughter, Brenda Donahue. One brother, Arthur (Millicent) Witkoske of Enfield, Connecticut and one sister, Paulene (George) Scheer, of Clare survive. One daughter, Marilyn (Richard) Miller of St. John's, and one son, Gordon (Malene) of Ann Arbor, seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren survive. A special thank you for the assistance in caregiving by adopted daughter, Gladys (Bob) Ostic, Sheila and Barry Saylor, Dwight Friday, Rev. and Mrs. Mark Morre and friends from the Beaverton Church of the Nazarene, Hospice of Helping Hands and Dr. Higham Churbaji. Services for Alma willtake place Friday, January 2, 2004at 1 p.m. at the Beaverton Church of the Nazarene. Friends may call at Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton, Thursday January 1, 2004 from 6-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Beaverton Church of the Nazarene music fund or Hospice of Helping Hands.
