Mrs. Jones was the daughter of Rufus S. Yon and Maria Gleaton Yon. She was born near Springfield in 1873. She joined the Baptist church in girlhood, attending its services and active in its work as along as health permitted. She was married to William Nelson Jones, a farmer, on October 28, 1894. December 15, 1898, Mr. Jones died leaving her with three small daughters. The daughters are: Mrs. W.A. Dubose, Mrs. Baisy E. Patterson, and Miss Eloise Jones, all of North. A son-in-law, W.A. Dubose, also survives; one granddaughter, Rachael Patterson; one grandson, Augustus C. Patterson, North; two stepsons, E.C. Jones, postmaster at North, and E. St. Julian Jones, North; two step-daughters, Mrs. Rosalie Smith, North, and Mrs. Clara Burns, Orangeburg; one sister, Mrs. Annie Gleaton, Springfield, also survives.
