HAUESSLER DIED SUNDAY AT MARION She Had Resided Here For Major Portion Of Her Life The many friends of Mrs. B. D. Haeussler were pained to learn of her death, which occurred at her home in Marion last Sunday. She had suffered a stroke of paralysis six weeks ago, and previous to that time had been in failing health for about two years. At the time of her death she was 82 years of age. Her maiden name was Minnie Helgens, and she was born in Ostfriesland, Germany, on March 4, 1850, and came to the United States when she was a young woman 19 years of age. She settled in Monticello, and was married to B. D. Haeussler, in Wayne township, April 31,1871. With the exception of twelve years, when Mr. and Mrs. Haeussler resided in Prairieburg, they lived in Monticello, until they removed to their home in Marion, in 1921. Mr. Haeussler died October 27, 1926. Throughout her long life) Mrs. Haeussler was an active and useful member of the Evangelical Lutheran church. She is survived by one son. John B. Haeussler, who made his home with his mother at Marion, and by five daughters: Mrs. Fred Sulinger of Georgetown, N. Y.; Mrs. Henry Rehorst, Belle Fourche, S. D.; Mrs. Hans Kettlitz and Mrs. E. J. Farley of Monticello, and Mrs. George Gould of Conrad; fifteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Ten children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Haeussler, two of whom, Howard and William, died in childhood. Two others, Urban and Jennie, grew to adult life before their demise. In addition to her children and grandchildren, Mrs. Haeussler is survived by one brother, Fred Helgens of LeMars. Mr. and Mrs. Haeussler celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary April 31, 1921, just after their removal to their home in Marion. Mrs. Anna Coleman, the twin sister of Mrs. Haeussler preceded her in death by four year and two days. Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the family hoe in Marion. They were in charge of Rev. CE. Krog, pastor of the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran church at Marion. During the services Mrs. Rose Wilcox of Marion, formerly of Monticello sang a selection from the New World Symphony by Dvorak, "Going Home". Interment services were made at Oakwood cemetery at Monticello, where Mrs. Haeussler's body was laid to rest by the side of her husband. The pall bearers were W.F. Rohn, Hilland War, Tobias Folkers, and F.E. Stimson. During the last illness of Mrs. Haeussler she was tenderly cared for by her daughter, Mrs. Rehorst, who came to Marion from Belle Fourche and also by her other children. All of the children were present with their mother when she passed to the Great Beyond.
