Read More	SOURCE: THE MONTICELLO EXPRESS….SEPtEMBER 21,1893…PAGE 4 The community of Castle Grove township was saddened by the death of Mr. Almon Worthy Danks, who was buried on the 2nd, of September in the Prairie Hill cemetery. He was born in Rutland, Wisconsin. January 2nd, 1862, and died Aug. 31st, 1893, in his 32nd year, and was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Alson Danks. When he was about 2 years of age his parents removed to Iowa, where they have continued to reside, and where Almon gained universal esteem of the large number of citizens and families who made his acquaintance, as he was always an obedient and affectionate son, brother and friend. About seven years ago he was prostrated by a sunstroke which was so severe that he was permanently disabled, and with each returning summer has been an intense sufferer from its effects. For a long time before his death, his Bible was a delight to him, for he had obtained the "peace that passeth understanding" through his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, having turned with sincere repentance to God, and having the benefit of a Christian brother's prayers, which he solicited. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. David Street of this city, pastor of the Presbyterian church, assisted by Rev. Mr. Bodnam who was formerly pastor of the Baptist church at Prairie Hill. The church was crowded during the services, many being obliged to stand, and the funeral was one of the largest ever held In the township. The only surviving children of Mr. Alson Danks are two daughters. The entire community sympathize deeply with the family in the loss of this worthy son and brother.
