They moved to Dubuque in 1974. He was born on Oct. 18, 1906, in Petersburg, son of Herman and Elizabeth (Geistkemper) Westhoff. He died at 4:35 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26, 1996, at the nursing home. He married Henrietta C. Naber on Jan. 28, 1930, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Dyersville. He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Dubuque. Surviving are his wife, Henrietta C. (Naber) Westhoff; three sons, Walter (and Janet) Westhoff, of Earlville, Iowa, Floyd (and Betty) Westhoff, of Guttenberg, Iowa, and Mark (and Joyce) Westhoff, of Petersburg; four daughters, Grace (and Roger) Hermsen, of Earlville, Del (and Ed) McFadden, of Lisle, Ill., Mary Lou (and Dick) Bixby, of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Carol (and Laurence) Mountcastle, of Kona, Hawaii; 26 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; four brothers, William "Dick" Westhoff, of Monticello, Iowa, Hubert "Hub" (and Marie) Westhoff, of New Vienna, Iowa, Leo (and Mary) Westhoff, of Manchester, Iowa, and Roland (and Catherine) Westhoff, of Dyersville; four sisters, Leona (and Elmer) Koelker and Sally Wegmann, both of Petersburg, Dolores (and Leo) Manternach, of Worthington, Iowa, and Frances Besler, of Farley, Iowa; and a sister-in-law, Isabel Westhoff, of Dyersville. He was preceded in death by one great-grandchild, Paul Crow; three brothers, Ambrose, Lawrence and Ed Westhoff; and three sisters, Marie Wilhelm, Josie Westhoff and Monica Steffensmeier. The family requests no flowers. An Aloysius J. "Al" Westhoff Memorial Fund has been established by his family. A special thank you to the Heritage Manor staff for their dedicated and loving care.
