Description	:	Following an illness extending over the past year, Mrs. Bert Floyd passed away Wednesday night about 11:30 pm at the family home four miles northeast of town. Her illness was due to a nervous breakdown, following which complications set in. During the past month she had failed rapidly. Funeral services will be held at the Pimmer church the afternoon at 1:30 pm, conducted by Ray J. Arthur Young, of the local M. C. Church, and interment will be in the Kisling cemetery. Mrs. Floyd's maiden name was Alpha Reta Hollloway. She was born Feb 10, 1877, near Brandon, and was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Josiah Holloway. Her marriage to A. M. Floyd took place October 14, 1896, and for many years the family home was on the farm northeast of town. In 1913 they came to Vinton and lived here until Mrs. Floyd's health failed in December, 1921, when they returned to the farm which was being operated by their daughter and husband, Mrs. And Mrs. Lester Taylor. Two years ago, while A. Moelk and family were in California, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd had charge of the Moelk store, and Mrs. Floyd continued to work there until her health failed. Her never failing cheerfulness and accommodating manner in the store won her many friends who regretted her illness and who are sorrowed by her death. Mrs. Floyd was a splendid woman, and in the home she was the ideal wife and mother. She was a member of the Methodist Church and her deep belief in the teachings of her Master sustained her through her illness and made her ready for the call when it came. Besides her husband and daughter, Mrs. Floyd is survived by two sisters and three brothers, as follows: Mrs. Effie Getty, Waterloo; Mrs. Julia Revel, Urbana; Dennie Holloway, Center Point; Will Holloway, Urbana, and Jake Holloway, Sac City, Iowa. child: Alta Mae Floyd Rollinson
