Description	:	2 July 1908 - West Branch Times We are very sorry to learn the bereavement of Mr. and Mrs. Alpheus Myers of Cedar Valley. Sunday evening their twelve year old son, Alpheus was found hanging in one of the swing ropes about 4:00 o'clock in the afternoon. At first it was supposed to have been accidental, but on further investigation it was suspected it was done intentionally, as the rope was tied around his neck and the other end attached to the limb of a tree and he had dropped several feet.... Life was extinct when found. No cause for an intentional act of this kind on the part of the boy is known, and perhaps just how or why it happened will forever remain a mystery. The parents have the sympathy of the entire community.
