She was one of four children born to the marriage of Oliver and Ida Shaull Davis. She grew to womanhood in this same vicinity and attended school in rural Iowa county. Read More	Source: Victor Record Mrs. Alta Bricker Services Held Thurs., Sept. 1 Alta Elzora Davis was born Oct. 3, 1898 on her parents farm homestead south of Ladora. She was one of four children born to the marriage of Oliver and Ida Shaull Davis. She grew to womanhood in this same vicinity and attended school in rural Iowa county. On April 12, 1923 Alta was united in marriage to Dale Bricker at Marion. To this union were born two children: Dean and Betty. Following their marriage they farmed southwest of Ladora until 1930 when they moved into town. Mr. and Mrs. Bricker were privileged to have observed over 36 years of marriage at the time of Mr. Bricker's death in March of 1960. Alta continued to make Ladora her home following Mr. Bricker's death. She was well known for her knowledge of her familly's history as well as the history of the town of Ladora and she enjoyed sharing this with her many relatives and friends. Alta was a member of the Ohio Methodist church and the Women's Society for Christian Service of this same church. She was also a long-time member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Ladora Friendship Club. On Monday, Aug. 29 Mrs. Bricker departed this life. She had attained the age of 78 years, 10 months and 27 days. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one brother, Roscoe, and one grandson Steven Lee. Alta is survived by her two children, Betty, Mrs. Dean Woodrum of rural Ladora, and Dean of rural Ladora; eight grandchildren, Terry, Larry, Kurt, Denise, David, and Kris Bricker and Debbie Chittick and Dawn Woodrum; and five great grandchildren, Tonya, Jackie and John Bricker and Brian and Corey Chittick. Also surviving is her sister, Ethyle, Mrs. Leonard Sims of Iowa City, and her brother Bob Davis of Ladora; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held on Thursday, Sept. 1, at 2 p.m. at the McAninch-Fremming Funeral home in Victor with Rev. Edward R. Peterson officiating. Two solos, "In The Garden" and "The Lord's Prayer" were sung by Larry Bricker, accompanied by Mrs. Ireta Daniels. In care of flowers were Mr. and Mrs. Neff Ritchie. Concluding services and burial were held at the IOOF cemetery at Victor with Terry Bricker, Larry Bricker, Kurt Bricker, Richard Chittick, Donald Rohrer and Wayne Shaull serving as casket bearers.
