She taught in a country school for one year and was married May 30, 1911 to Roscoe Plin West, Blockton, Iowa. He died in December 8, 1918. She was associated with the Seward Creamery Co., and then the Blue River Power Co.Later she spent 11 years as District Accountant for the Iowa - Nebraska Light and Power Co.
