Description	:	Mrs. Murel (Alta) Hoggarth, 76, Aneta, died November 21 in the Mayville Hospital. Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 24, with a forenoon service in Ottawa Lutheran Church, rural Aneta, and an afternoon service in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, McHenry. Burial was at McHenry. Alta Marie Baker was born December 15, 1905 at Eastabute, IL, to the late William and Katharyn Baker. Burial was at McHenry. Alta Marie Baker was born December 15, 1905 at Eastabute, IL, to the late William and Katharyn Baker. When she was five years old the family moved to Wisconsin for a short time and later to North Dakota, to the McHenry area where they farmed for several years. She was married to Murel Hoggarth at McHenry October 25, 1925. The couple farmed in that area until Mr. Hoggarth's death in 1949. That fall she moved to Aneta to live with a daughter. In 1953 she moved to Cooperstown, where she was employed as a cook in the Rebecca Retirement Home. Following her retirement, she moved back to Aneta to live with her daughter until August, 1982, when she became a resident at the Good Samaritan Home in Aneta. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Ernest (Verlan) Eberhardt, Aneta; three sisters, Mrs. Henry (Edith) Ehlers, Tolna, Mrs. Ralph (Annie) Harding, New Rockford and Mrs. Glen (Agnes) Ehlers, Kent, Wash.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death, besides her husband, were a grandson, four brothers and a sister. Published in the Griggs County Sentinel-Courier, Cooperstown, North Dakota, December 1, 1982.
