Description	:	Altha Grove Dodd, 71, of Roseland, died Saturday (Feb.9) in Lynchburg General Hospital. She was born Dec. 2, 1919, in Nelson County, the daughter of Eunice Tice Grove and the late William David Grove. Mrs. Dodd was a member of Beech Grove Christian Church. In addition to her mother, Mrs. Dodd is survived by her husband, Bennie Bruce Dodd Sr. Also surviving are four daughters, Wilma Richardson of Etlan, Marian Grubb of Waynesboro, Rita Hale of Olympia, Wash., and Mary Beth Via of Piney River; a son, Benny Bruce Dodd Jr. of Charlottesville; a brother, Hawes Page... In addition to her mother, Mrs. Dodd is survived by her husband, Bennie Bruce Dodd Sr. Also surviving are four daughters, Wilma Richardson of Etlan, Marian Grubb of Waynesboro, Rita Hale of Olympia, Wash., and Mary Beth Via of Piney River; a son, Benny Bruce Dodd Jr. of Charlottesville; a brother, Hawes Page Grove of Waynesboro; two sisters, Louise Hughes of Waynesboro and Doris Campbell of Fredericksburg; two grandsons; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A service will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Beech Grove Christian Church conducted by the Rev. Elwood Campbell. Burial will be in the Dodd family cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Raymond Lloyd Jr., Kevin Parr, Gary Critzer, Jason Via, Roger Campbell Jr., Toby Fitzgerald, Andy Hickman Jr. and Clark Campbell. The family will receive friends at the Byrum-Parr Funeral Home in Roseland from 7 to 9 p.m. today and at other times at the home of her daughter, Mary Beth Via, in Piney River.
