Description	:	Last rites for Mrs. Althea Schellpeper, 90, were held at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Stanton on Tuesday, Mar 20. Mrs. Schellpeper died of an apparent heart attack at her home in Stanton, Saturday, Mar. 17. The Rev. P. William Bader officiated with music furnished by the congregation singing "Heaven is My Home", "Abide With Me", and "Rock of Ages". Althea Dorothea Klug was born at Norfolk Oct 31, 1893, the daughter of Fred and Mary Heckman Klug. She was baptized, confirmed, and married in St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Norfolk. She lived in Norfolk until her marriage to Lawrence Schellpeper on Nov. 10, 1912, after which they resided on his farm located northeast of Stanton. They moved to Stanton in 1929, where she has resided ever since. Her 90th birthday was observed with a special open house last October. Survivors include one son, Fred, of rural Stanton; and one daughter, Ethel (Mrs. Orvall Kuester) of Norfolk; six grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; one half-sister, Mrs. Gertrude (Ed) Wittenburg of Cove's Point, Ore.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence in 1973, a son Marvin in 1976; two brothers, one sister, and three half-brothers.
