Conner formerly of 1063 West Main street, died Monday evening at Bide-a-wee convalescent home in Belding where she was a patient the past two weeks. A lifelong resident of Ionia county, she was born November 18, 1874 in Easton township, daughter of George R. and Viola Leach. In 1894 she was married to Eugene Vohlers who died in 1935. She was later married to William Brunson Conner in 1939. He died in 1963. Mrs. Conner was a member of Ionia First Christian church over 50 years. She was also a member of Mrs. Preston Sunday school class, Ionia chapter OES and Needlecraft club. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Grace Niles of Taylor, Mrs. Lylia Johnson of Lowell, and Mrs. Michael Brindle of Ionia; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Emily Joslyn of Greenville; and a brother, Ray Leach of Royal Oak. The body will be at Stone-Kauffman funeral home until Thursday noon. Funeral service will be conducted at First Christian church Thursday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Floyd Emshwiller officiating and interment at Easton cemetery. ------ Funeral service for Mrs. Althea M. Conner 89, of 1063 West Main street who died Monday evening at a Belding convalescent home, was conducted at First Christian church in Ionia Thursday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Floyd Emshwiller officiating. Mrs. Sara Carpenter was organist and interment was at Easton cemetery. Bearers were Eugene Niles, James Johnson, Michael E. Brindle, Stanley Nichols, Edward Boyd and James Boyd. Attending from out of town were Mrs. Grace Niles and Eunice Holland of Taylor, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Nichols and Betsy, Mr. and Mrs. Limer Braman and Mrs. Chauncey Braman of Lansing; Mrs. Lylia Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Boyd, James, Robert and Janet Boyd, and Mr. and Mrs. George DeGraw of Lowell; Mr. and Mrs. James Johnson of Grand Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Leach of Royal Oak, Mrs. Emily Joslyn, Mrs. Hubur Guernsey and Mrs. Afton Mortensen of Greenville; Mrs. Buerl Guernsey of Gowen, Mrs. Louis Fabian of Rosebush, Mr. and Mrs. Evart Braman and Royce Braman of Belding.
