Description	:	MANCHESTER - Alton Elwood Moody, 87, of Manchester, died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 1998 at Gardiner Rehabilitation Center in Gardiner. He was born Jan. 5, 1911, in Portland, the son of Aquilla E. and Lucinda (Irish) Moody. He was a graduate of Deering High School in Portland. Mr. Moody was employed by A.E. Moody Heating Contractors and Family Book Stores of N.E. until his retirement in 1995. He was a member of the North Manchester Meeting House Church. Read More	MANCHESTER - Alton Elwood Moody, 87, of Manchester, died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 1998 at Gardiner Rehabilitation Center in Gardiner. He was born Jan. 5, 1911, in Portland, the son of Aquilla E. and Lucinda (Irish) Moody. He was a graduate of Deering High School in Portland. Mr. Moody was employed by A.E. Moody Heating Contractors and Family Book Stores of N.E. until his retirement in 1995. He was a member of the North Manchester Meeting House Church. Al enjoyed hunting in his earlier years and was known for his Yankee humor and common sense. His family was the focus of his life and he will be sorely missed by them. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Mary Gwendolyn Young Moody of Manchester; three sons, Rev. Stan A. Moody and wife Barbara of Manchester, Gary R. Moody and wife Judy of Virginia, James H. Moody and wife Georgia of Rhode Island; two daughters, Susan M. Slaiger and husband Rev. John Slaiger of Rhode Island, and Mary E. Kaczowka and husband Ted of Portland; one sister, Ora Stultz of Westbrook; 18 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. There will be no public visiting hours. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 7, at the North Manchester Meeting House with Rev. Stan Moody officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining North Manchester Cemetery. Arrangements are by Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home of Augusta.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to North Manchester Meeting House Church, c/o Rev. Stan Moody, P.O.
