Read More	No d. cert. found OBITUARY Alva Lee Hammond, son of Walter and Matilda Hamond, was born in Knox Co.. Mo., Jan. 22, 1899, died of tuberculosis Jan. 12, 1920. He had been afflicted most all of his life but bore his affliction and suffering, which was intense the last few months of his lift, with patience and courage, bore them without a murmur. Alva is gone. His good, helpful, patient life has come to a close. How we shall miss him! He was a good boy loved by every one. Shall we wish him back again? No, we can go to him, and so that which is a dear memory is made to give new power to golden hope. God is too wise to err and too good to be unkind. All that loving hearts and hands could do was done for Alva, but Jesus said. "Come unto me and I will give you rest." Alva free from pain has gone to our Savior. He leaves a mother, step-father and four brothers. A beautiful wreath of greenhouse flowers and also home grown ones were an expression of love from his many friends and relatives. His four devoted brothers acted as pall bearers. The funeral service was held at 3 o'clock p. m., Jan. 13, by Bro. Clay of Shelbyville. The remains were laid to rest by the side of his father in Cedar Grove cemetery. E. K.
