Description	:	Alvera M. Lieske, 96, of Kearney died Saturday, May 17, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Funeral services will be Friday, May 23, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Kearney. Rev. Duane Duley and Rev. Jack Heck will officiate. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. at the Upland, NE Cemetery. Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services of Kearney are in charge of arrangements. She graduated from Upland High School in 1935. On February 27, 1938 she married Albert Lieske in Upland, NE. The couple farmed northeast of Upland. They moved to a farm south of Upland, where they lived until 1963 and then moved to a farm west of Upland. Her husband died in 1994 and she moved to Kearney. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, LWML, church Ladies Aid and the Good Samaritan Hospital Service League. Survivors include sons, Ron Lieske and wife Joyce of Kearney, NE., Gary Lieske of Charlotte, NC; daughter-in-law Susan Regos and husband Paul of Dunwoody, GA; grandchildren, Michael Lieske of Atlanta, GA, Cheryl Lieske of Charlotte, NC, Andrea Speicher and husband Larry of Kearney, NE, Amy Peterson and husband LeRoy of Omaha, NE, Chad Lieske and wife Paige and Corey Lieske and wife Emily of Atlanta, GA; great grandchildren, Samantha and Morgan Peterson of Omaha, NE, Lauren and Hannah Joy Speicher of Kearney, NE and Avery and Ben Lieske of Atlanta, GA. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by one son, Don Lieske; 2 brothers; 1 sister and daughter-in-law, Joan Lieske.
