He was 62 years, five months and 21 days old. Funeral services were held Friday, December 29, 1972, at 10:30 A.M. at Christ Lutheran Church at Bazile Mills with Rev. Walter Schindler officiating. The church choir sang "I'm But a Stranger Here" and "Forever With the Lord." The congregation sang "Draw Us to Thee." Mrs. Carl Neilsen was organist. Pallbearers were Herb Suhr, Fred Bohren, Melvin Schellen, Leonard Boggs, Rudolph Scheer and Marvin Herbert. Alvin Schuett, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Schuett, was born July 4, 1910, at Winnetoon. He attended Christ Lutheran Parochial School at Bazile Mills and high school at Winnetoon. February 7, 1937 he was united in marriage to Miss Selma Hinzmann at Christ Lutheran Church. They were blessed with two daughters. Alvin spent his entire married life on a farm one mile north of Winnetooon and less than a half mile from his birthplace. A lifetime member of Christ Lutheran Church where he was baptized and confirmed, Alvin held several offices there and was a choir member. At the time of his death he was Sunday School Superintendent. Survivors include his wife, Selma; two daughters, Mrs. James (Karen) Hardt of Lincoln and Mrs. Michael (Phyllis) Elms of Creighton; his mother, Mrs. Minnie Schuett of Creighton; one sister, Mrs. Orville (Irene) Arneson of Niobrara; one brother, Gerald of Winnetoon; four nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
