ALVIN DOYLE TEMPLE was born December 31, 1923 in a farm house located in section twenty-nine (29) of the North half of the NW Quarter of township one (1), Range ten (10), St. Bridget township, Marshall county consisting of one hundred twenty (120) acres. The house which is now tore down was located about fifty (50) yards from corner of 16th Street and Deer Trail Road, one (1) mile North of MINA, KANSAS, about six (6) miles South of Summerfield, Kansas. He graduated from Marysville High School in 1942. He served in the Navy in the South Pacific from 1943 to 1948. He married Joy Lorraine Marquardt January 1, 1946, at St. Gregory's Church. He was a locomotive engineer for the Union Pacific Railroad for 42 years, owned and operated Temple Electric Company, Marysville, Kansas. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, DAV and Union Pacific Employee Club 28. He enjoyed Kansas State women's basketball, watching his grandchildren's sporting events and traveling. ****************************************************** Obituary-- THE MANHATTAN MERCURY, THE (KS) - Tuesday, May 16, 2006 Deceased Name: Alvin Doyle Temple Alvin Doyle Temple, 82, of Marysville, Kansas, died Thursday, May 11, 2006 at his home in Marysville. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, at St. Gregory Catholic Church in Marysville. A Rosary will be read at 10 a.m prior to the fureral service.
