Description	:	Offerle -- Alvin G. Konrade, 75, died Dec. 16, 2006, at his home, rural Ford County. He was born April 18, 1931, in Spearville, the son of Albert and Eva Stegman Konrade. He attended Offerle public schools and excelled in basketball and baseball. Konrade, 75, died Dec. 16, 2006, at his home, rural Ford County. He was born April 18, 1931, in Spearville, the son of Albert and Eva Stegman Konrade. He attended Offerle public schools and excelled in basketball and baseball. A lifetime Ford County resident, he started farming with his dad at a young age and continued until his health would no longer allow it. He started working part time, laying carpet in the late 1960's for Davis Salsbury, Dodge City. He owned and operated Midway Carpet Center, Kinsley, from 1974 to 1984. He belonged to St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Offerle, and was a longtime member of the National Rifle Association. He loved the great outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. On Nov. 14, 1950, he married Dorothy M. Schmidt in Offerle. She survives. Other survivors include: five sons, Robert and wife, Judy, Offerle, Daniel and wife, Vicki, Spearville, Charles and wife, Janet, Spearville, Gary, Dodge City, and Louis and wife, Teresa, Spearville; three daughters, Nancy Ackerman and husband, Larry, Spearville, Carol Durler and husband, Rod, Spearville, and Colleen Espinosa and husband, Danny, Kinsley; a son-in-law, Rodney Blehm, Meade; a brother, Reginald and wife, Jan, Abilene; two sisters, Marceda Schmidt and husband, Gerald, Spearville, and Carolyn Gleason and husband, Marvin, Kinsley; 25 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gilbert; and a daughter, Marlene Blehm. Vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Offerle. Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with Father Nicanor Ferangco presiding. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, rural Ford County. Memorials may be sent to Hospice of the Prairie or St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Offerle, both in care of Minnis Mortuary, Box 516, Bucklin, KS 67834.
