Description	:	Alvin Otteman Alvin G. Otteman, 87, of Hooper died Thursday, June 25, 1998, at his home in Hooper. Alvin was born July 20, 1910, on a farm near Hooper. He graduated from a rural school and furthered his education at Fremont Normal School. He was engaged in farming, and in 1991, he moved to Hooper. After his first wife, Bernice Low, died in 1957, he married Edith Engle Parsons on Sept. 17, 1966, in the Bethel Church near Hooper. She survives. He graduated from a rural school and furthered his education at Fremont Normal School. He was engaged in farming, and in 1991, he moved to Hooper. After his first wife, Bernice Low, died in 1957, he married Edith Engle Parsons on Sept. 17, 1966, in the Bethel Church near Hooper. She survives. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Hooper and voluntered for the American Cancer Society. Other survivors include three daughters, Arlene Connley of Tulsa, Ok., LaNell (Mrs. John) Byram of San Jose, Ca., and Diane (Mrs. Roger) Heath of Tigard, Or.; a son, Lester Otteman of Chandler, Az.; a stepson, Leslie Parson of Atlanta; a brother, Henry and wife Margaret Otteman of Scribner; 17 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. The funeral services were held June 30 at Faith United Methodist Church at Hooper. Rev. Eugene E. Watson officiiated. Burial was in Hooper Cemeetery. A memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society and Faith United Methodist Church.
