Born Jan. 8, 1878, in Somerset county, Pa., the son of Joseph T. and Mary Kimmel Glessner, he came to Black Hawk county with his parents 50 years ago. Dec. 25, 1900, he married Miss Margaret Lichty. They made their home in Orange township where he resided until his death. He was a member of the Orange Church of the Brethren. Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Lois Johnson, Route 1, Waterloo; Mrs. Olive Nearing, Route 3, Gladwin, Mich.; and Mrs. Mae Lamb, San Juan Capistrano, Cal; four brothers, Edward J. and William L Glessner, both of Cedar Rapids, Ia.; H. G. [Greely] Glessner, Burlington, IA., and Russell H. Glessner, Sheldon, Ia.; one sister, Mrs. Clyde Bronson, Route 6, Waterloo, and nine grandchildren, one of whom, John Lam, is receiving boot training with the navy at San Diego, Cal. Three brothers, Richard T. Glessner, John E. Glessner, and Obidiah Glessner, and two sisters, Mary Glessner and Mrs. Nancy Wills, preceded him in death. The body will remain at Petersen Brothers funeral home until 11:30 a. m. Thursday when it will be taken to the Church of the Brethren. --"Alvin K.
