Alvin was born, a twin, on July 16, 1920 in Clinton, Iowa the son of Leonard A. and Edna I. (Mess) Porter. He was a self employed custom grain hauler and corn sheller and he owned and operated the Porter BMW Motorcycle Dealership for more than 20 years. He was a member of the BMW M.A.O. and was a longtime member of the Moose. Survivors include his children, Alvin Eugene (Brenda) Dannatt of Bald Knob, AR; Connie (Russ) Thorman of Dover AR; Leonard (Kathy) Porter of Camanche, IA; Sonya (Steve) Schroeder of Calamus, IA; step-daughter, Karm Paysen of Calamus, IA and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, twin sister, Alta Stiles and brother, Harold Porter.
