Description	:	OBITUARY OF ALVIN BALLARD October 11, 1962 DEATH OF ALVIN BALLARD Graveside services were held Thursday at 4:30 p.m. for Alvin Ballard, 41 at the Cambridge Cemetery. Rev. J.E. McClellan had charge of the last rites and also gave a short prayer at the Cooper Funeral Home. His mother, Mrs. Zetta Ballard, who lives in Omaha, was among those attending the funeral. A north bound freight struck his car at 9:23 p.m. After the train struck the car, the engineer stopped his diesel on the 4th street crossing. Gordon Ruliestad was driving past at the time and gave the engineer a ride back to the accident scene. Sheriff Shalley of Nevada assisted by Mayor Wayne Heintz, Ralph Fleener and Tom Shinn investigated the accident. Ballard, a WW II veteran is also survived by a sister.
