Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 4, 2015, at the Riverside Cemetery, Minturn, CO. "Bun" Johnson, 78, of Phoenix, Ariz., died Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at the home of his daughter, Jackie. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 4, 2015, at the Riverside Cemetery, Minturn, CO. He was born on October 26, 1936 at Lovell, WY, the son of Alvin S. and Sofe Christina (Wasden) Johnson. He lived in Wyoming and from an early age worked at the Johnson family saw mill. At Lovell High School, he played point guard on the 1953 Wyoming State Basketball Champion team. A gifted multisport athlete, he was a prospect for the New York Yankees organization. He attended Montana State University at Bozeman, Montana. On January 24, 1957, he married Donna Jean Miller at South Laguna Beach, Calif. They lived in southern California for twenty years. The family also lived in Durango, Colorado, Gallup, New Mexico, Carson City, Nevada, and Phoenix, Arizona. In 2014, they celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary. He worked as a commercial truck driver and was co-founder of Inland Freight Lines in Orange, Calif. He was a gifted wood and metal craftsman and served as Sexton of Pinnacle Presbyterian Church until his retirement. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed camping in the mountains of the western United States. Survivors include his two daughters, Jackie and her husband Judge Thomas LeClaire, of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Bunny Roper of Phoenix, Ariz., three sons, Lawrence Johnson of Carson City, Nev., and Brandon and Dustin Johnson of Phoenix, Ariz., his siblings, Edna Taylor of San Clemente, Calif., Alva Lowe of Billings, Mont., Edward Johnson of Billings, Mont., Calvin Johnson, Annella Barnes of Vale, Oregon, and Louis Johnson of Orem, Utah. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna, his parents, his brothers Alvin Johnson, George Johnson, Jerrold "Jed" Johnson, and sister Lois Johnson.
