Death followed a week's illness of heart trouble. Mr. Murray leaves, besides his daughter, two sons, Dr. Dwight Murray of Nopa [sic - Napa], California, and O. F. Murray of Pasadena, California.; and two brothers, Mart Murray of Lewisburg, Minnesota, and Bruce Murray of St. Paul, Minnesota. Mrs. Murray died about 15 years ago. Mr. Murray formerly lived at Springville until about 13 years ago when he moved to Bloomington. For a time he was a partner in the Elgar and Murray Transfer company. The deceased was a member of the First Christian Church of this city. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon from the Springville Christian church with Rev. Harry Bridwell, pastor of the Clear Creek Christian church, in charge. Burial will be in Springville. Pallbearers will be: Luther Ferguson, Orth Ferguson, Roscoe Wagner, Quince Armstrong, Curtis Armstrong and Kern Armstrong." Obit dated Friday, 24 Mar 1933: "Murray Rites on Saturday - Former Perry Township Farmer Succumbed to Heart Disease at Bloomington Early Today - Lawrence county relatives were advised today of the death at 3 o'clock this morning of Winfield Murray, 77 years old, former prominent farmer of Perry township, which occurred at the home of his daughter, Miss Ruth Murray, in Bloomington, with whom he had made his home since the death of his wife in February, 1920. Heart disease was said to have been responsible. Mr. Murray had been in failing health since he underwent an operation in California about four years ago. Besides the daughter he is survived by two sons, Dr. Dwight Murray, Napa, Cal., and Orland, Pasadena, Cal.; two brothers and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Springville Christian Church at 2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon in charge of Rev. Harry T. Bridwell, pastor of the Clear Creek Christian Church, and burial was will be made in the Christian Church cemetery there. He was born on a large farm near Springville, July 9, 1855. In young manhood he was united in marriage with Miss Anna Ferguson and they occupied Mr. Murray's farm in Perry township where he successfully followed agricultural pursuits until about fifteen years ago when they moved to Bloomington. He was an influential and highly respected citizen and was familiarly known to his relatives and close friends as 'Uncle Win.' While he had suffered with heart disease for several years, he did not take his bed until Wednesday and local relatives and friends were not aware of his serious condition until the death message was received this morning."
