Description	:	Alvina Clara Grace Boatright passed away on December 2, 2004, in Eureka at 77 years of age. Her husband of 58 years, Levi Freeman Boatright, Jr., truly misses “his honey”, but Alvina is now with her Lord and her spirit is free and full of joy. Alvina Clara Grace was born in Clakamus , Oregon, [Clackamas Co., OR] on July 23, 1927. She was proud of her maiden name (Grace) and commented frequently “how pretty it is”. Alvina graduated from Milwaukie High School in Milwaukie, Oregon, in 1945. She met her husband, Levi F. Boatright, Jr., in Portland, Oregon, while he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. They married on April 6, 1946, and moved to San Angelo, Texas, which was Levi’s hometown. Alvina and Levi moved to Humboldt County in 1955 where Alvina worked as a secretary/bookkeeper from 1956 to 1976. Her last place of employment was John Stanberry Insurance in Arcata, where she worked for 13 years. Alvina stopped working to be at home where she could enjoy more time with her grandsons as well as her lovable dogs. She also loved short out-of-town trips and staying in motels. Other special times included reading her Bible, playing her accordion, singing, collecting music boxes, wearing beaded necklaces, and drinking root beer floats. Alvina was preceded in death by her parents, David Lawrence Grace and Mabel Hill Grace; and by her sister, Veneta Athleen Grace. Friends are invited to attend graveside services on Tuesday, December 7th at 1:30 pm at Greenwood Cemetery in Arcata, CA. Arrangements are under the direction of Paul’s Chapel, 1070 H Street, Arcata, California. The family would like to express thanks to the Seaview staff and Dr. Patrick Dawson for their help, comfort, and care during Alvina’s stay and illness.
