Services will be held at 10 a.m. MST Monday, Jan. 22, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Beulah, with the Rev. Terry Wipf officiating. Burial will be in St. Martin Catholic Cemetery, Hazen. She was raised and educated in the Beulah area. On Feb. 24, 1936, she married Joe McLaughlin at St. Martin Catholic Church, Hazen. They farmed west of Hazen their entire married lives. Joe died Feb. 14, 1966. In 1967, she moved to Beulah, where she has since lived. Alvina worked as a certified nurse's assistant at Beulah Community Nursing Home for 20-plus years. She thoroughly enjoyed her work and the residents. Following her retirement, she continued to volunteer at the nursing home. Alvina enjoyed dancing, baking and cooking, but her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Altar Society. She is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Beck, Great Falls, Mont., and Geraldine Pavlicek, Dickinson; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Jim and Pat McLaughlin, Dickinson, Tom McLaughlin, Beulah, and Marceal McLaughlin, Hazen; 21 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe; one son, Joe Jr.; one daughter, Shirley Ann; one daughter-in-law, Vesta McLaughlin; two sons-in-law, Don Pavlicek and Harold Beck; one grandson, Dan Pavlicek; four brothers; and five sisters.
