Ploessl, 91, of Ennoble Manor, 2000 Pasadena Drive, formerly of St. Donatus, and La Motte, Iowa, died peacefully at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2001, at Ennoble Manor. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Donatus (Iowa) Catholic Church, with burial in the St. Donatus Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at Siegert-Didesch Colonial Funeral Home, 390 N. Ploessl, 91, of Ennoble Manor, 2000 Pasadena Drive, formerly of St. Donatus, and La Motte, Iowa, died peacefully at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2001, at Ennoble Manor. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Donatus (Iowa) Catholic Church, with burial in the St. Donatus Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at Siegert-Didesch Colonial Funeral Home, 390 N. Grandview Ave., where there will be a scripture prayer service at 7 p.m. She was born on July 30, 1909, in Petersburg, Iowa, daughter of Henry and Mary (Wedewer) Heying. She married Albert B. Ploessl on Nov. 23, 1927; he died in 1979. She was a member of the St. Donatus Parish and rosary society and a member of the prayer affiliation of the Sisters of St. Francis. She was a very loving mother and grandmother and loved to be amongst her family and friends. She enjoyed playing cards and loved to bake cookies for her grandchildren. She will be missed dearly. Surviving are four sons, Silvester (Wilma) Ploessl, of La Motte, Cyril (Marilyn) Ploessl, of Bellevue, Arthur (Rosalie) Ploessl, of St. Donatus, Iowa, and Lawrence "Larry" (Linda) Ploessl, of Farley, Iowa; three daughters, Ruth (Harold) Ambrosy, of Dubuque, Helen (Windey) Kalmes, of St. Donatus, and Mary Lou (Roger) Heinricy, of Dubuque; 34 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; three great-great-granddaughters; a brother, Linus Heying, of Wyalusing, Pa.; and two sisters-in-law, Helen Heying, of Richmond, Minn., and Elva Ploessl, of Dubuque. She also was preceded in death by a son, Albert Ploessl Jr.; a daughter, Judy Nemmers, on March 20, 2001; a son and three daughters in infancy; and her parents. An Alvin Ploessl Memorial Fund has been established. The family would like to thank the staff at Ennoble Manor for all their loving care, especially her roommate and dear friend, Agnus Mueller, for her friendship and compassion.
