Description	:	Mr. Alvis William David Stoner, 82, resident of McCrory, Arkansas, died on Friday, May 8, 2015. Mr. Stoner was born in Tuckerman, Arkansas on February 10, 1933, to William Edgar and Lizzie Myrtle Ward Stoner. He attended McCrory Schools and was married to the former Shirley Reeves on August 1, 1956. Together they had three wonderful children, Joey, Karl and Mary Wyn. Alvis... Read More	Mr. Alvis William David Stoner, 82, resident of McCrory, Arkansas, died on Friday, May 8, 2015. Mr. Stoner was born in Tuckerman, Arkansas on February 10, 1933, to William Edgar and Lizzie Myrtle Ward Stoner. He attended McCrory Schools and was married to the former Shirley Reeves on August 1, 1956. Together they had three wonderful children, Joey, Karl and Mary Wyn. During his life, Alvis was district manager for Thermogas for some 30 years. He later became a laser plane operator and had his own business in this field. He worked at this until the end of 2013. Alvis was a member of the McCrory Church of the Nazarene where he served on the board. He was fire chief for the McCrory Fire Department for twenty plus years, and belonged to the McCrory Rotary and Lions Clubs. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Shirley Reeves Stoner, two sons, Joey Stoner and wife Jane of Collierville, TN., and Karl Stoner and wife Melissa of Cabot, one daughter, Mary Wyn Adams and husband Jimmy of McCrory, three sisters, Betty Sue Tiner, Mable Dean Swanson, and Roselyn Wakefoose, five grandchildsons, Kyle Edgar Stoner, Jackson Adam Stoner, Clayton Alvis Stoner, William Andrew Stoner, Samuel Grayson Stoner, one grand-daughter, Sara and one great-grand-daughter, Mayci Claire. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Edgar and Lizzie Myrtle Stoner and three sisters, Opal Imogene Mauldin, Zada Elwanda Pennington, and Frances Annie Lee Cariker. Services were held in McCrory Nazarene Church in McCrory, AR., under the direction of Thompson Wilson funeral home with burial in Woodman Cemetery.
