She passed away Saturday, November 24, 2007, at the age of 81. At the age of six, Alyce and her family came to Washington State, where at one time, they homesteaded at Plain. The family later lived in Wenatchee, where she attended Wenatchee High School. At the age of 17, she was a patient at Edgecliff Sanitarium in Spokane, suffering from TB contracted from her father (a result of mustard gas - WWI). Following her recovery, in 1947, she married Harold Sehorn of Wenatchee. Together, they had three sons, Douglas, Gary and Robert. At one time, she was very active with the Wenatchee Kennel Club and enjoyed attending Dog Shows across the state. With the passing of Harold in 1967, while raising two boys still at home, she worked her way through nursing school and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. Much of her nursing career was spent in the Emergency Room at the old Deaconess Hospital in Wenatchee. In later years, she worked as head nurse at Highline Care Center. Alyce loved the outdoors, spending numerous weekends camping and fishing in local area. She also loved to travel, making many trips to Hawaii and one to China. In 1971, she married Warren Manke of Mansfield. In 1975, she was again widowed. In 1996, she married Frank Caruthers and moved to Bellingham to make their home, overlooking Bellingham Bay. Tragedy struck again in 2001, when she was again widowed. Following Frank's death, Alyce returned to Wenatchee to be closer to family. Survivors include three sons, Douglas (Judy) Sehorn of Wenatchee, Gary (DeVonna) Sehorn of East Wenatchee and Robert (Cindy) Sehorn of Entiat; seven grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. Alyce's request for no services and her remains to be scattered in a place she truly loved, will be honored. Partial remains will also be Interred alongside her first husband, Harold Sehorn. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your favorite charity. Also, thanks to Home Health and especially Patty, for aid and comfort given.
