Services were at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Reformed Church, Sioux Center, with the Rev. Roger Voskuil officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Roger Voskuil officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. De Vries was born to Gerrit and Jana (Te Grotenhuis) Den Herder on May 9, 1906, in Sioux Center. She graduated from Hope College in Holland, Michigan. She married Albert De Vries on July 27, 1932, in Sioux Center. She was a member of First Reformed Church in Sioux Center and was active in circle and adult choir. She loved music and singing in the church choir and the Sioux County Women's Chorus. She worked as a 4-H leader for 30 years. Her talent was working with her hands, creating with yarn and needles. Survivors include one son, Avan and Marlys of Denver, Colorado; three daughters, Jeanne Feekes of Sheldon, Judy and Mike Finnell of Denver and Cheryl and Dick Kunz of Wilmore, Kentucky; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one sister, Janice Sandbulte of Luverne, Minnesota; three brothers, John and Daisy, Alvin and Katherine and Kenneth and Elizabeth, all of Sioux Center. She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Gordon and Elmer, one sister, Jeanne Audrey Den Herder, and one son-in-law, Bob Feekes. Sioux Center News 2001-02-07.
