They were the pride of her heart and the joy of her life. An education for her girls brought them to Manchester to live from their country home. About four months ago one of daughters died, leaving five little children to be provided for. A married daughter took the infant baby and she took the other four. To them she was giving her life affectionately. In early childhood she made a profession of religion and joined the Methodist church and has lived a faithful and consistent life. She was a devoted wife, a dear good mother, a kind and affectionate grandmother, a faithful Christian, a true friend, a good neighbor, and a home lover. Last week she was making preparations for a happy Christmas in her home, but last night the Angels took her away. Her funeral was conducted from the Methodist church in Manchester in the midst of a large crowd of sorrowing friends and relatives. Her pastor, Rev. B. T. Lammon, spoke tenderly of the beautiful traits of her character and life, using as a text Rom. 8:28, "All things work together for good to them that love God." She was laid to rest near her daughter almost within a stones throw of her home. Many beautiful flowers brought by her friends were tokens of the high esteem in which she was held. She was prepared to live, she was ready to die.
