She was united in marriage to Mr. Hosea Wiley in June 1872. To this union were born three children, two sons and one daughter, one son, Frankie, dying in infancy. Bro. and Sister Wiley have lived in Clarke county all of their married life and were well known, highly esteemed and loved by all who know them. Their lives were spent in the service of the Master and many speaking of them point to their lives as being spotless, saying, "I only wish I were pure and that my life might mean as much to others as theirs have meant to me." Sister Wiley was converted over 48 years ago, uniting with the M. E. church at Ottawa. About four years later Bro. Wiley came to God and his wife transferred her membership, both uniting with tho U. B. church and have been faithful to God and their church ever since. Sister Wiley departed this life March 15, 1917. She leaves to mourn their loss the husband, one son, W. A. Wiley, and one daughter, Mrs. Win Carson, all residing In Clarke county, eight grandchildren, four brothers, two of whom were present, and many relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted by J. W. Hutchins at the M. E. church and interment was made in the Ottawa cemetery. God is calling his children home one by one. Sister Wiley's funeral makes the third for us in just two weeks, each leaving the evidence that all was well with their soul. God has surely been good to Woodburn and her people in sparing those that were, not ready to go. Oh, that we may occupy the time and do our best to lead them to Him that is able to take away the sting of death.
