Burial will be In the United Township Cemetery in Coon Rapids. Casket bearers will be John, Wayne, Richard and Wendell Sheer and Don and Tom Holdsworth. Ohde Funeral Home is handling arrangements. A daughter of Carl and Meta (Jensen) Petersen, she was born Jan. 13, 1904, in Audubon County. She was baptized the next month at Ebeneezer Lutheran Church west of Audubon. She attended rural schools near her home before her family moved to California. She was confirmed at Pella Lutheran Church in Selma, Calif., in 1918. The family eventually returned to Audubon where she worked at the telephone office after her schooling. She married Roscoe Sheer April 29, 1925. Mrs. Sheer was a homemaker. The Sheers farmed in Audubon County and later moved to Omaha, Neb. After several years they moved to Harlan, where they were members of and custodians at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Because of falling health, Mr. and Mrs. Sheer became residents of the Bayard Care Center in March 1989. Mr. Sheer died in 1993. Survivors Include a daughter, Delia Holdsworth, and her husband, Vernon, of Harlan; a daughter- in-law, Phyllis Sheer of Bayard; 11 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; her son, Edwin; two grandsons, Kenneth and Merlin Sheer; an infant great-granddaughter, Heather Sheer; and seven sisters and brothers, Stena Jensen.
