Description	:	Amanda was the daughter of Benjamin and Patsey (Flora) McFarlin. Mrs. Amanda (McFarlin) Fleener was born in Monroe County, Indiana, July 7, 1830. Removed in infancy with her parents to Morgan County, Indiana, where she grew to maturity. She was married to Samuel Fleener in 1851, and one year later they removed to Poweshiek County, Iowa, where they made their home, and where they reared their family of six boys and three girls. Read More	Amanda was the daughter of Benjamin and Patsey (Flora) McFarlin. Mrs. Amanda (McFarlin) Fleener was born in Monroe County, Indiana, July 7, 1830. Removed in infancy with her parents to Morgan County, Indiana, where she grew to maturity. She was married to Samuel Fleener in 1851, and one year later they removed to Poweshiek County, Iowa, where they made their home, and where they reared their family of six boys and three girls. The husband died December 19, 1891. Mrs. Fleener remained on the farm till the fall of '99 when she together with an unmarried son and daughter removed to New Sharon, where she continued to live till her death, which occurred January 16, 1901. She was surrounded at the time of her death by her seven surviving children. The funeral services were conducted at the Christian Church and the body was laid to rest beside that of her husband in the Stewart Cemetery.
