Deal, 83, Tuesday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lela McNear, in North Manchester. Mrs. Deal was a native of Miami county and spent most of her life in Richland township. Funeral rites were conducted Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the North Manchester Methodist church. Interment was at North Manchester. Deal, aged 83 years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lelah McNear, in North Manchester, January 22. Funeral services were conducted at the M. E. Church in that city last Thursday at 2:00 p.m., with the pastor, Rev. Bose, in charge, and burial was made in the nearby cemetery. A large number of relatives from the vicinity of Chile, Roann and Peru attended the rites. Mrs. Deal spent most of her life in the Paw Paw vicinity, having moved to near North Manchester about twenty-six years ago. She was a daughter of James M. and Ann (Mitten) Jones, one of a family of six children, of whom, but one sister remains, Mrs. Frank Black of near Roann. Surviving also are the husband and daughter and one son, Russel Deal of Warren, Indiana; also nine grandchildren. Two children preceded her in death. Denver (IN) Tribune 31 Jan 1935
