Description	:	Mrs. William Piper died at her home in Ogden Tuesday morning after an illness of pneumonia. The funeral was held on Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, services being conducted by Rev. Thomas of the M.E. church of Ogden, and the remains laid to rest in Glenwood cemetery at that place. Boone County Democrat September 4, 1908 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mrs. William Piper, another of Boone County's highly esteemed pioneer residents, passed away at her home in Ogden, Tuesday, Sept. 1, 1908. The funeral services were held from the M.E. Church in Ogden, of which she had long been a faithful member, at 2:00 o'clock Thursday afternoon, September 3rd., conducted by the Rev. A.E. Thomas and attended by a large concourse of sorrowing friends and relatives, burial in Glenwood cemetery. Amanda Melvina Kinkner was born in Pennsylvania, Oct. 5, 1845 and was almost sixty three years old at the time of her death. In early childhood her parents removed to Illinois, where she was united in marriage with William Piper, February 22, 1864. In 1870 she came with her husband to Boone County and settled on a farm in Marcy Township, where they continued to reside until 1895 when they removed to Ogden and have made their home there since. To Mr. and Mrs. Piper were born three children, one of whom, Walter, died in infancy. She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Nora Noland, and one son, J.C. Piper, all of Ogden, also six grandchildren and one great grandchild and one brother, John Kinkner of North Dakota, and six sister, Mrs. Wing and Mrs. Miller of Ogden, Mrs. Taylor of Woodward, Mrs. Leichleiter of Fraser, Mrs. Clark of Lohrville and Mrs. Emmerson of North Dakota, to whom is extended the earnest sympathy of a host of friends.
