At the age of fourteen she removed with her parents to Hamilton, where they resided for two years when they move upon their farm near Taylor’s Corners DeKalb County. Thus for forty-eight years the worthy pair have delved and strove, enjoyed and dispensed hospitalities, and had their hopes and fears together. She was of a family of six, Jefferson Beard and Mrs Mile Waterman surviving. She had one child, Prof HH Keep, of the Waterloo schools, who, with his faithful old father were untiring in their efforts to comfort and help the dear wife and mother in her long and distressing disease. Miss May, a daughter of Jefferson Beard, who had resided with her for years,and was like a daughter, aided and supported her to the last with a beautiful devotion. Religiously, She was a firm believer and faithful student of the Holy Bible; with preferences for the Christian church. Her obsequies were held at the old home and largely attended by old neighbors who followed the remains to the Hamilton cemetery. ~ submitted by Merllene #47157899
