Reedy and manager of the Marshall Hotel and a rooming house on West Market Street died at three-forty o'clock Friday afternoon at the Rockingham Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Reedy had been ill for the past two weeks. She was admitted to the hospital last Sunday where her condition had grown gradually worse. Little hope had been held for her recovery in recent days. A daughter of the late Samuel Hawse and Julia Ann Reedy, she was born on March 9, 1874 in the Cherry Grove community where she spent the early years of her life. On June 30, 1894, she married William D. Shirkey, and following their marriage Mr. & Mrs. Shirkey moved to the Harrisonburg community where Mrs. Shirkey was to spend the remainder of her life. Mr. Shirkey preceded her in death on September 11, 1944. On June 18, 1952 she married Robert L. Reedy, who survives her. Her survivors are omitted since they were children of first husband Mrs. Reedy, who operated the Marshall Hotel on North Main Street and a rooming house where she lived at 86 West Market Street was well known in Harrisonburg where she had a host of friends. She was a member of the Mennonite Church. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at three-thirty o'clock from the chapel of the Lindsey Funeral Home on South Main Street. The Rev. Harold Eshelman will have charge of the services, assisted by the Rev. Oliver Keener and burial will be in the Woodbine Cemetery
